Better buy the Beep card because it saves you the hassle of lining up for a ticket. For me, it is very convenient to have one and loading the card is a breeze via the kiosks.

If you're going to stop at Vito Cruz Station, try squeezing yourself between the R AND T of Walter Mart sign. You increase your chances of sitting and the train door opens near V.Cruz Station exit.

Passengers move by batches supervised by lrt personnel. Allow 30-45min before you can step inside the train. Beat the crowd and take the train before 6am to avoid the long line.

Very organized. Guards are strict with the policy and that makes even better for us, passengers. :)

When Traveling on LRT line 1 try to catch the blue one train and go to the rear end portion of the train because it is longer than the usual yellow train.

If you're from Manila Area and planning to go to SM North or TriNoma, take the LRT 1 and alight in this Station [Roosevelt].. then ride a Jeepney in front of Walter Mart, with a sign "SM North ikot"

If you want a seat in the morning, better catch a ride before 6am. The seconds really make a difference. I missed my ride by half a minute. Ended up waiting for the next train w/ a big crowd. Sigh.
