The hotel itself is fantastic, and having the the mercado del puerta across the road is great. However, it's dead in the evening for tourists - no bars/good restaurants. Some sketchy people too..

Top hotel in the old part of Montevideo. Take the room with the jacuzzi, it's worth it. The swimming pool is small and it's on the rooftop but it has a nice bar. The decoration is very special.
