A Shanghai, la plus ancienne ligne de trolleybus de Chine, lancée il y a plus de 100 ans – en 1914. Pendant cette période, le système a été reconstruit et modernisé à plusieurs reprises. Le métro de Shanghai se développe activement – d'ici 2020, il est prévu d'augmenter le nombre de lignes à 23. Ils relieront toutes les parties de la ville, ainsi que les zones suburbaines.
